Many try to get into the TREK OPS Expeditionary Group (TEG). Most of them fail. Out of an average intake of 125 candidates, the grueling selection process will weed out all but 10.
The small number of men and women who make it through selection receive the coveted Black Boonie Hat with the distinctive green Scout arrowhead insignia.
As a newly badged member of the TREK OPS Expeditionary Group they can feel justly proud. They are not out of the woods, however, as they are now effectively on probation either as an elite member of an A-Team or B-Team. As brand new members of the group, they will be watched closely by the Group leadership as they enter continuation training to eventually become a Master Scout. Once earned, they are on the path to become an Adventurer.
